Important UPS Update: New Surge Fees Effective April 13, 2025
UPS has announced new Demand and Surge Fees that will impact select shipments to and from Canada starting April 13, 2025. These fees will remain in effect through July 5, 2025, or until further notice depending on the service. The surcharges are in addition to standard shipping charges and are meant to address high-demand periods and logistics capacity challenges.
What Shipments Are Affected?
- Canada-Origin & Import Shipments (All Services)
From April 13 to July 5, 2025, the following surcharges apply to packages billed to a Canadian UPS account:

Ongoing surcharges also remain in place from December 1, 2024, until further notice:

- Shipments from China, Hong Kong, and Macau to Canada
For shipments from these regions, surcharges will be assessed based on weight from April 13, 2025, until further notice:
